I had the opportunity to discuss stormwater management with John Gonzalez of WJLA-TV (ABC) Good Morning Washington at Hooffs Run Culvert in Rosemont. I shared several recommendations that can help ensure our stormwater management is able to do all that it is capable of, such as clearing debris from storm drains. There are also steps we can take as a community to ensure that stormwater does not build up and contribute to the run-off that is already generated on the road, sidewalks, parking lots, rooftops, and sidewalks.

By installing ecologically responsible stormwater management, like permeable hardscapes, dry-wells, rain gardens, and retention ponds, we can keep the rainwater where it falls, street by street, lot by lot. On City Council, I will bring a unique level of knowledge and experience to ensure these types of projects make Alexandria a True ECO-CITY.
